I taught myself to crochet in 1995, after I saw the beautiful afghans my mother-in-law made, and noticed how warm they were- they put everyone to sleep!

Once I learned how, my favorite thing to do was to sit with a notebook, pen, and crochet hook, and to see what happened. Many of the patterns here came out of that period.

Since then I have also been the designer at Linen Flowers Designs, where I love drawing the designs to stitch.

After spending time with family, my hobbies are knitting and sewing, growing flowers and gardening, and playing with our Doberman and 3 cats.

Reading the Bible daily keeps me centered on what is really important in life- knowing God personally, through the death of His Son, Jesus.

My Salvation

    In 1991, I asked Jesus to be my Savior.

    I know that is hard to understand, but what it means is that you realize you are lost and on your way to hell for your sins. Before that, nothing in me wanted the goodness of God.

     In my case, I was very unhappy and I didn't know why.  I didn't believe in God for years, because I felt that I was strong and could do anything  by myself. And I had questions when I was young that no one knew the answers to, so I just decided to  stop believing in God.

     My life ran parallel to my  faith, and it wasn't long before I was shipwrecked in addiction and depression.  I wondered what meaning there was to life. I remember times where I felt so alone. I wanted to know for sure.

     A friend had been writing to me about Jesus, and told me how He had suffered much more than I ever could. She said that He loved me, and died for my sins so that I could be with Him in Heaven.

    I'm ashamed to say that I always ignored her talk about Jesus before, thinking it was strange. The Lord was leading me to Him by opening the door of my heart.

    I didn't want to sit on the fence any longer. I was curious what faith could do for me.  I went for a visit to her house, and she asked me if I would like to be saved.

     At that time, I didn't really know the meaning of that. I thought to myself, "Well, what do I have to lose?"  I was more concerned about what I would lose than what I would gain.

     She helped me to pray. I truly didn't know how, and it was uncomfortable for me. She helped me to ask Jesus to forgive my sins, and to be my Savior. With her help, I told Him that I believed in Him and wanted to be saved.

    I was surprised to feel such warmth and light. I felt His presence, as if a great burden had been lifted from my shoulders.

     It was a real pleasure to feel His love after such a cold and indifferent life I was living. I realized that He was real, and I had been running from Him for many years.

     Later, as I studied His word (King James Verson), I knew and accepted that I was a child of God (for you have to come to God through His Son Jesus).

    I came to see that His Holy Word was the Bible- and that answered my question from childhood as to how God could speak to us.

   I experienced such joy and peace that day and every day since then, knowing there is Someone walking by my side, showing me His light in a very dark world.

    Someday I have a glorious future, because He saved me, a sinner. Not through anything that I have done, but because what He did satisfied a Holy God.

   You can have that glorious future, too. Quietly, and on your own, you can ask the Lord to forgive your sins, and take you to Heaven when you die. There is no other Savior in the world but Jesus Christ to help you. Other religions give you fear, or dread, of God, but the Lord gives you Himself, and you know Him personally, through the Holy Spirit you are given when you are born again.

   It will tell you that Jesus is The Way, The Truth, and The Life. He is the Living Water in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is. My favorite Psalm, Psalm 48, says, "He will be our guide even unto death".

    I need that kind of a guide. I am a sinner, not a holy person. What other hope before God do I have? God says that every man on earth is born unto sin, born under the curse of Adam, and must die under the curse, unless the blood of Jesus covers our sin.

   Today is the day of salvation, God says. 

   "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."

   And, "This is my Beloved Son, hear ye Him."

   If you died tonight in your sleep, where would you be?

"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life." Romans 6:23

"But God demonstrates His love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

"But if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. " Romans 10:9-10.

"For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13.
